Beauchamp fought just outside the top ten throughout most
of the 2016 KTM RC390 Cup Championship -- the Tennessee native ended up finishing eleventh in the points at the end of the season with a couple of finishes on the edge of the top five. He was expected to make
a major step in the class at the start of the 2017 season and those expectations were met
as he put himself on the front row of the grid for the opening round of the series at Road Atlanta. Beauchamp fought tooth and nail from start to finish in both races with Benjamin Smith, but he was forced to settle for second in both races. Nonetheless, Beauchamp is eager to earn his first career victory in the MotoAmerica Championship and he proved himself capable of doing so in Georgia, making himself one of the favorites to stand on the top step of the podium at VIR.
