IMAGE /MPG WORDS / LANNAN DESIGN / WILSON
>> Jett Reynolds is one of the most solid young riders in the world of amateur motocross today. So far in his young career, few have matched his dominance and the young rider continues to prove he is the man
to beat in the 85cc divisions of amateur motocross. It was no different at the Junior Moto X event as Jett was one of the fastest riders in the practice sessions and heat races. When it was finally time for the young California rider to go for gold, the anticipation was palpable inside the Lazy E Arena. When the gate finally dropped for the 85cc 9-12 Main event, Jett shot off the gate and strayed his Kawasaki to the inside of the pack. He was right behind his fellow Kawasaki rider, Defrancesco going into the first corner, but was able to get his bike turned just a little quicker. Jett happily took the holeshot and rocketed his 85cc machine into the next corner. He began to hit his marks with unbelievable speed and was doing everything he could to hold off his hard charging buddy, Defrancesco. Jett began to put down a blistering pace. His lead started to grow as he was executing amazing technique and was flying through the track inside the Lazy E Arena. He was pushing his Kawasaki to
the limit and quickly started to come up on lapped traffic. He navigated through the first few gracefully but encountered some hiccups on the seventh lap. He went to the very inside to get around a rider in the first corner and after having one foot off the pegs and paddling the dirt with his foot to keep the Kawi upright, Jett regained control. In the very next corner, the rider clipped his back wheel as they went to the inside, which briefly stood Jett up. He used his strength to keep from falling over and got back on the gas as soon as possible. The other rider hit the dirt and Jett continued on. After the mistakes, a quick look over his shoulder insured he still had the lead and he went on to take the win with ease.
