The two teammates/training partners had the Georgia crowd on their feet the entire main event.
Ryan would close the gap in one section of the track and then lose time on the opposing side as
Marvin was jumping through a difficult whoop section in just two hops. Holding the defending champ off
for 19 straight laps, it looked as though Marvin had finally beaten his good friend. As the white flag came out, Marvin came up on Yoshimura Suzuki’s James Stewart and was looking for a way around the soon to be lapped rider. Making a huge error trying to get around James, Marvin came up short tripling into the next rhythm section and went for a wild ride. Almost colliding with both Stewart and Dungey, Musquin amazingly saved the crash but unfortunately lost the lead. Although a bummer for his good friend Marvin, this was another impressive performance by Ryan Dungey. Staying extremely patient throughout the race and waiting for the right time to strike, Ryan avoided a crash while threading the needle and secured yet another win. Extending his already large points lead, Ryan grabs his fifth win of the season and now has twenty-four straight podium finishes.
