>> Dylan Ferrandis has been slowly working his way to the front of the 250 pack since his American racing debut just a few months ago in the Supercross series. Dylan landed an amazing deal with Star Racing Yamaha, and has been proving his worthiness ever since. After much success overseas previous, many counted Dylan as a top contender for the 250 motocross series. His speed was definitely there when the series began last weekend but a hellacious crash put him down and out in his first outdoor race in America. Unfortunately, they collectively made the decision to heal up for Glen Helen, and when the day began in SoCal, Dylan seemed to be ready and rearing to go. His speed was in- credible in practice and he was ready to get racing. Unfortunately, when the gate dropped for the first moto, he did not get the jump he needed and his struggles continued. He did the best he could to make up as many positions as possible but by the green flag, Dylan was still listed in 18th position. He only made up a couple of positions in the next couple laps and then when Cianciarulo began to put some pressure on him, he put the hammer down on his Yamaha. After a few laps of passing many riders, Dylan eventually gave
in to the pressure of Adam and handed over 11th place. The rough Glen Helen track would then pull Dylan down and although he got back going as fast as possible, he had fallen back to 15th position. Dylan’s resilience shined through as he put his head down and climbed all the way back up to 9th by the time the checkers waved. In the final moto, Dylan was determined to make it easier on himself. He launched off the gate this time and was pressuring for 2nd place quickly. As the leader went down half way through the first lap, Dylan saw an opportunity and quickly pounced. He took advantage and made a pass for the lead over Osborne soon after. He crossed the green flag lap in the lead and began to pull away. The rest was history as Dylan opened up an incredible 23-second lead over point’s leader, Osborne. He would take the well deserved win, which combined with his first moto score, would give him 3rd overall on the day.
