>> Michael Mosiman is the hot new rookie on the scene in Pro Motocross. After landing an outstanding factory ride with Rockstar Husqvarna, Michael was called to the line for his first pro race last weekend at Hangtown. He scooped up a top 15 finish and it was on to Glen Helen he went. Michael began the day riding with some extra confidence from his performance at the opener. His Husky flowed through the track like the top guys and it looked like he had what it took to get into the top ten. When the racing began, Michael got an excellent jump as he leaned back and forced his bike to grab traction. He came around inside the top ten and was looking very confident. He put down very solid times for the first few laps but was forced to give up a few positions to the veterans early on. Michael didn’t let
it get to him and he kept his confidence up. He was turning faster and faster laps and his consistency paid off as he was able to capitalize on rider’s mistakes in front of him. Michael had made it up to 7th position just after the halfway point. Unfortunately, it was only briefly as Adam Cianciarulo took the position quickly. Michael proved he had the fitness as he continued to lay down some impressive speed. He would hold on to a very impressive 8th place finish by the time the race was over. In the next moto, Michael got an outstanding start and was quickly prov- ing how deserving he was of the factory ride. He began to battle for 5th place and solidified his spot inside the top five soon after. Michael continued his consistent, fast laps, and with a little luck, was handed another position by a downed rider. Colt Nichols eventually would catch him but Michael would not give up the posi- tion without a fight. The young rookie continued to impress as he was running a top five position at the halfway point of the moto. The sharks behind him then be- gan to smell the fear as one by one; Michael was forced down the field. He would eventually settle up in 10th place when the checkers were waved. His finishes would be good enough for 8th overall in just his second-ever pro race.
