ELI TOMAC
Riding on a whole lot of hype into 2016, the lime green #3 has been confronted by some mediocre
results through the first twelve rounds. Coming in, Tomac was predicted to battle for the lead, to possibly dethrone the Orange
KTM and, to once again, place the Monster Energy Kawasaki team on the top step for good. Predictions, though, have a regrettable way of
increasing the pressure and misleading the masses. In fact, since January and the opening round back in Angel Stadium, Tomac has only
reached the podium two times, one of which was a win at Daytona International Speedway in Florida. More consistently than finishing the
top three, Eli has established himself in the 4th through 6th place positions throughout this year, a standard well below the prophecy of the
young Colorado native. Despite the dreary results, though, the green team rider brings the possibility of prevailing to the track every week.
In other words, he can not be counted out and should still be considered one of the fiercest contenders to Dungey’s throne. What Tomac
needs, like so many others, is consistent starts on Saturday night. Eli won’t win with a holeshot in the heat race and will no doubt be forced
to get out of the gate quicker in the Main event than he has been. Following the last two weeks, Tomac coming off two 5th place finishes, it’s
obvious he can put forth the laps needed to shoulder with the leaders; ET3 will just need to be there from the beginning. As our sport has
