After passing Pourcel, Anderson breaks into the top 5 by the tenth lap. After picking off Pourcel, Anderson goes on to rail through the massive sweep with Trey canard – holding out until the end to get around the Honda rider. When Eli Tomac goes down, Anderson is suddenly in third place – 20 seconds behind the top two riders. Although he would not be able to catch up the leaders, he would remain in the top three, both on the podium and in the points standings.
