dium. He qualified 13th but everyone knew that with the track being so rutty, Blake may have a chance to surprise some people. When 450 Heat 2 began, Blake got off to an average start and was sitting in the top 10 on the first lap. He made his way up to 7th by the checkers but it wasn’t enough. In the Semi, Blake got a command- ing holeshot and tried to lay down some clean laps. He was able to keep the lead and scraped by with the win over Reed. The stage was set for the race that counts and Baggett was ready to prove that the changes they made during the week were going to pay off. When the Main Event began and it was a dogfight to the first corner. Blake came into the first section around 12th place and started trying to work forward. Anderson got around him and he followed the 21 and tried to stay with him. By lap 12, Blake had crawled up to 6th and was putting in some good laps. He made a clean pass on Pourcel and now sat in 5th place. It seemed as though Baggett had figured out the settings on his Suzuki as he put in a season best finish of 5th place in Indy.
