JORDON SMITH
IMAGE/JACKEDWARDS
Jordon Smith has quietly enjoyed a successful first year and a half as a professional. The reason we haven’t seen or heard his name up closer to the front in the overall results is his struggle with consistency. That has been the one element to his game
that he has not perfected and it has plagued him in his short career. He will have a great moto and hold his own inside the top five but then the next moto he will crash a few times and finish up deep in the field. If the Geico Honda rider can crack his consistency code he will be a top five threat every single weekend. His starts are always on point and his early moto speed matches the fastest riders in the class. He got his season rolling in Hangtown with a very impressive and career best second place finish. He put all the pieces together starting with his usual great starts and held off a trio of Star Racing Yamaha riders to secure the second place spot. He was set up for a career best overall day but his inconsistency struck again and he ended up sixteenth in the second moto. Can the MTF product finally string together two solid motos at Glen Helen?
