JUSTIN BARCIA

May 23rd, 2009, the AMA Professional Motocross Championship headed to Glen Helen Raceway for the opening round of the series. Lucrative banter filled the industry, as hype of a Geico Honda rookie captivated all who were in attendance. Many who had seen the Monroe, New York resident compete, truly believed his gung-ho attitude would resonate
into the professional series just fine. But those unfamiliar, weren’t so sure, with him lacking age and experience at the highest level. A ninth place in moto one, was followed by dyer effort and third place in moto two. Justin Barcia rocketed to an early race lead, and lunged for every possible glimmer of open track, holding Ryan Dungey at bay for a majority of the moto. Although he was displeased at not winning the moto, Barcia forecasted his presence on the tour in his inaugural moments as a professional. He comes into Glen Helen this weekend searching to rekindle an old fire, with sparks and heat residue lingering from his past accomplishments here.
