Jason Anderson proved he was going to be a contender at the San Bernadino track early Saturday morning. He turned a top 3 laptime in the first session and made his way to 4th fastest in the second session despite a tip over at the bottom of Mt. St. Helen. When the first moto began, Jason got off
to a great jump and found himself running inside the top ten. He made quick moves and was able to sneak into 6th position within a couple laps. About ten minutes in, Jason began catching the top 5
and was applying pressure on Marvin Musquin. He was able to make the pass on Marvin and also on Cole Seely for 4th position. He was now sitting only three seconds behind 3rd place, Tomac. With three laps to go, Jason went inside of Eli before the rhythm section and was able to jump his way into podium position. Then with two laps to go, Ken Roczen’s forks ran out of air, which allowed Jason to slide into 2nd position where he would finish right behind the champ, Dungey. In moto two, Jason got a similar start and was running a close 6th place on lap one. With about half the time left on the clock, Jason had made his way up to Canard who was sitting in 3rd place. He was able to jump passed him in the rollers and did everything he could to pull away. Then, going up the first hill, Jason cross-rutted and nearly threw it all away. He was able to ride it out but unfortunately, the mistake drew 5th place, Tomac closer to him. Tomac was able to make the pass and Jason now sitting in 5th, put his head down and focused on finishing the race healthy. He did exactly that and went home with a 2-5 for 4th overall.
