KRYSTIAN JANIK
Krystian Janik qualified for Loretta Lynn’s this year in the 65cc (7-9) class, but
a broken knee cap would keep him out of contention down at the Ranch. The Baja Brawl would be the first amateur national back on the bike for the Cobra rider out of Illinois. Janik is hoping to get right back to winning ways after some significant time spent off the bike, although he would do everything necessary
to stay fit and ready during his injury. He decided to contest the 85cc (9-11) class, the 65cc (7-9) class, and the Limited class of the same name. The first 65cc (7-9) moto didn’t go quite as planned for Janik; he didn’t make it very far into the race before he endured a scary crash that sent him flying over the handlebars of his Cobra. The impact zone that absorbed most of the force was his helmet, fortunately he didn’t re- aggravate any injuries or create any new ones in the process. He didn’t let the crash phase him and he went on to win the following two motos in that class,
but the DNF in the first moto skewed his overall score in a way that lost him the chance of any overall success.
