CANYON RICHARDS
Canyon Richards was one of the few former Loretta Lynn’s champions lining
up on the gate in the mini bike class at
the Baja Brawl. The youngster out of New Jersey took the 51cc (4-6) Shaft Drive Limited title back in 2015. 2016 has been a decent year so far for the Cobra rider, taking a national title at the JS7 Freestone Spring Championship in the (6-7) class. Loretta Lynn’s didn’t go the way he had planned after his stellar result the year prior, as well as impressive qualifying results throughout the season; Richards’ best moto finish was a 21st place in
the third moto, but he also encountered some misfortune that would inhibit
the results he’s capable of achieving. Richards returned to winning ways shortly after Loretta’s, earning a pair of State Championships at Englishtown Raceway Park in his home state of New Jersey.
