GREYE TATE
COLLEGEBOY (16-24)
IMAGE / MPG WORDS / KILPATRICK DESIGN / WILSON
>> The Collegeboy class presented a jam packed gate that ex- ploded down the start straight and resulted in a pair of Kawasakis battling for first position. Jordan Camarata grabbed the early ad- vantage over Greye Tate on the opening lap, but the Georgia native didn’t want to settle for second position. He stayed within striking distance of the leader as the two sped back onto the start straight for the first time and set up a pass through the opening rhythm section, staying lower to the ground than Camarata and eventually executing a block pass. The two of them were side-by-side as they exited the corner, but Tate held the power on a little bit longer at the end of the rhythm lane which allowed him to control the inside line in the following right-hander. Over the course of the next couple laps, Tate separated himself from the battle for the podium as things really began to heat up. Camarata found himself in a battle with the KTM of Locky Kennedy and the two of them went back and forth
for two successive laps until Kennedy finally made the pass stick before the catapult. He set his sights on Tate in the lead, but the monstrous advantage that he had accumulated was a challeng-
ing obstacle to overcome. The leader on the Kawasaki was able to keep things calm and calculated as he grabbed the white flag with a sizable advantage. He fully utilized the breathing room that he had earned on the final lap and kept things consistent on his way to the checkered flag and the subsequent main event victory.
