Jimmy Albertson was ready to get the 2016 season started on his new bike and new team early on Saturday in Northern California. Top Jimmy qualified 25th going into the races
at Hangtown and knew he had his work cut out for him if he wanted to mix it up with the
young guns. Albertson was in desperate need for a good start when the gate dropped for 250 moto 1, but that was not the case for the Suzuki rider. He rounded the first lap in 32nd position and set his focus on moving forward. Unfortunately it seemed there wasn’t much Jimmy could do, as he was only able to make up two positions by the time the checkers flew. In the second moto, Jimmy was able to get a slightly better start and found himself running just inside the top thirty in the opening laps. After a few laps, Jimmy had made some passes as he was buried deep in the field and was sitting 25th with 20 minutes to go. For the next ten minutes, Albertson ate tons of roost but was able to make one more pass. By the end of the moto, Jimmy finished in 24th place and ended the day with a 27th overall.
