Marvin was ready to make his 450 debut on the Hangtown track Saturday morning. He went into practice with the confidence of a champion and ended up qualifying a solid 7th place. When the gate dropped for moto 1, Musquin got off to a great jump and was able to sneak inside the top ten early on
the first lap. As chaos ensued, Marvin was able to avoid a crash and make a pass and found himself in 5th place very early in the moto. After only a few laps, Marvin started creeping up on Bogle and was able to make the pass and secure 4th position. With fourteen minutes to go, Marvin began looking down at his bike and it seemed there was an issue. After one position lost, he got back on the gas and was battling with Baggett over 5th place. Unfortunately, he found himself also fighting for 6th place as Jason Anderson made the pass on him as well. Almost immediately, Marvin lost another position to Trey Canard and was now running 8th with ten minutes to go. He would lose another position to Grant and was eager for this moto to be over. He would finish 9th place and regroup for moto 2. In the final race of the day, Marvin got a similar start and was running near the top ten on lap one. He made quick work of the riders in front of him and was running 9th by the end of lap two. Marvin rode a pretty quiet race after that and held on to his spot steadily. Then, with about five minutes left on the clock, Marvin made a charge for 8th place and was able to jump his way through the rollers and into the position. A couple laps later, a mistake by Baggett would allow Marvin to gain another position and he was sitting in 7th place by the time the checkered flag flew. Marvin came away with 8th overall at Hangtown and will be ready to improve next weekend.
