With perfect track conditions, Jordan Smith placed his Geico Honda right into the front of the pack off the start. Running behind Savatgy, Smith didn’t let nerves or excitement affect his riding at all. Keeping his head in the game the Geico Honda rider stayed in second place the entire race. As the race closed the two blue riders, Webb and Martin all over him as the last laps of the race neared. Maintaining his composure under the pressure Smith finishes moto 1 with a second place, his best finish yet. In moto 2 Smith had a killer start the second time around after a red flag. He placed himself right into third place behind Savatgy just like moto 1 except Nelson had the front spot held down. Not long into the race Forkner made the pass on him pushing him out of the podium and into fourth. Riding comfortably there for only a moment because the crew of blue , Martin, Webb, and Martin , caught right up to him and the pressure was on. Unfortunately he had small run in with Alex Martin causing him to fall back. Not able to make the time up as quickly as he needed Smith finished the race in 16th. His overall finish for the day was a 7th overall. A good start to the season.
