>> Marvin Musquin has had a great season up until last weekend where he took a hard hit in the points chase getting 9th place. Looking to recover at round five Musquin was hoping to put his Factory Racing Red Bull KTM back on the podium. Feeling comfortable on the muddy track conditions throughout the day, Musquin qualified second going into the night show. The gate dropped for the first 450 heat race of the night and Musquin charged hard out of it. Sitting in second place right behind Jason Anderson, the KTM rider kept his head down while hold- ing onto his transfer position. Moving directly into the main event Mus- quin’s fire was lit and he was ready to show what he had in the main event. Not getting a good jump out of the gate the #25 was sitting right in the middle of the pack in 11th place. He wasted no time moving for- ward through the pack, quickly moving up into 8th place. As he inched his way forward through the crowd lap by lap something went wrong for the Red Bull Factory KTM rider causing him to pull off the track.
He was shaking his wrist as he rode through the mechanics’ area,
but soon pulled back onto the track. Losing a lot of time and positions Musquin had to get back on it with only nine minutes left of the race. After a few laps he was able to work his way up to twelfth place. As the clock wound down The #25 continued his ascent forward. Charg- ing hard he moved himself into 9th place when the checkered flag was waved. Not the podium he was reaching for, but it’s a long season
and there is plenty of races to go. Sitting third in points Musquin is 25 points behind the leader Ryan Dungey.
