>> Jake Weimer had a rough go last weekend in Arizona where
he finished 21st overall. A huge points loss for the JGR Suzuki rider. Looking to make it upok for last weekend Weimer worked hard throughout the week to better his results on the weekend. He qualified into the night show in fifteenth place. Not the worst place to start the night. He was in the second heat race where he didn’t get the greatest jump out of the gate. Sitting midpack Weimer had to charge hard to get himself up to a fourth place transfer spot. Not able to make the cut Weimer finished his heat race back in 8th so he had to move onto the semi. Knowing he really had to make it to the main out of this race he got a good start that put him near the front. Riding right where he needed to be the Suzuki rider trans- ferred on in third place. The main event was a battle for everyone with some really tough track conditions. Jake Weimer didn’t get the best start in his main event sitting back in 16th. He was holding down the back battling with Justin Brayton throughout the begin- ning of the race. Staying back in 17th for the first ten minutes of the race Weimer finally began to move forward during the second half of the race. With just three minutes to go Weimer worked his way into 14th. Then with only a lap to go he passed Friese and moved into 13th. Jake Weimer finished off the fifth round of the season in 13th place. It wasn’t his best finish of the season, but it was close to it. There is a lot of room for improvement, but Weimer is beginning to head in the right direction.
