>> Vince Friese has had an eventful 2017 season, with some tough battles on and off the track. The Moto concepts Honda
rider is looking for that break again. He started the day off qualify- ing into the night show back in 17th. Heading into the heat race Friese was ready for some racing and to show off he is better than a 17th. Pushing out of the gate as fast as he can, Friese was around the middle of the pack through the first turn. Knowing he had to work his way into fourth for that transfer spot, the Honda rider didn’t quite make the cut. Now he was onto the semi with the fire burning to do even better. Getting a much better start Friese was able to finish off his semi in fourth place sending him to the main event. Now in the big show where the results really matter, the Moto Concepts Honda rider got the best start he could have, the holeshot. With some tough competition he wasn’t quite able
to hold on and began to fall back. With the tough track conditions, he makes a big mistake through a rhythm section that cost him a lot of time, sending him back to 9th. As the clock ran out Friese began to fade away farther back. He settled into 13th right in front of Brayton for several laps. They began to battle back and forth for several laps fighting over that 12th place spot. Eventually Brayton was able to hold onto the spot and Friese was back in 13th again. Then on the last lap Weimer made a quick pass putting Friese back another position. He crossed the checkers in 14th his best finish of the season.
