>> Dylan Ferrandis is making a statement this year racing his first ever pro moto- cross season in the United States. After an injury at the first round, the Yamalube Star Racing Yamaha rider came back swinging into the next round grabbing him- self his first moto win of the season. He has kept the momentum going since then, grabbing some podium finishes and several top fives so far. Heading into round nine at Washougal was no different for the young Frenchman, laying down some fast lap times in qualifying. Launching out of the gate in moto one, Ferrandis was sitting up in 3rd place chasing down the leaders. Staying focused on what was in front of him a battle began to brew as Adam Cianciarulo began reeling him in. The Yamaha rider worked hard to keep Cianciarulo at bay but was unable to hold onto his position falling back to 4th. Even though he lost a place, the fight wasn’t over yet with a lot of time left in the moto Ferrandis stayed close to the riders in front of him. Taking advantage when Sean Cantrell made a small but costly mistake, the Yamaha rider maneuvered his way back into 3rd. Staying consistent for the second half of the moto Ferrandis was able to walk away with a 3rd place finish and a nice confidence boost heading into the second moto. Mimicking his good start Ferrandis sent it out of the gate putting himself in 4th around the first turn. Colt Nichols began putting the heat on his teammate right away. Ferrandis was unable to hold him off falling back to 5th place. Keeping his concentration on riding smooth the Yama- lube Star Racing Yamaha rider was not letting the front runners walk away from him at all. Then catching a second wind halfway through the moto he passed his teammate back moving up to 4th again. But before he knew it Osborne was on his tail and maneuvering past him before he could blink leaving him back in 5th once again. With his eyes trained forward and only one lap left in the moto, he makes a last minute pass on Cianciarulo moving up to 4th again. Having two good finishes for the day, Ferrandis was able to lock down the 3rd place podium spot.
