Criticized for avoiding competition as an amateur, Joey Savatgy proved
to all the nay sayers that he can match the speed of any rider in the class. He jumped on the map with feisty
competitive spirit, aggressive riding style and the belief that he belonged in the front of the pack. This display of riding and character earned Joey a spot on the mighty Pro Circuit Kawasaki Team. Desperately needing a win for the team that has surprisingly not won a main event since 2014, Joey came through at Round 4 of the 2016 Supercross series. Grabbing his first SX win of his career and also gaining the points lead, Joey sits in the drivers seat in the 250 west coast championship. Sharpening his skills, fitness, and technique at Ricky Carmichael’s facility in Florida while riding arguably the best race machine in the class, Savatgy has all the tools to win. Progressing every year thus far in his professional career, Joey is closer than ever to his first 250 SX title and is hungry for that number 1 plate.
