Starting the heat race in eighth place, Weston needed to make quick moves to get into qualifying position. Battling with Eli Tomac caused Peick to get tangled with a tuff block, ending any chance
of qualifying out of his heat race. The Semi was much more forgiv- ing for Weston as he cruised by Mike Alessi for an easy win.
Peick never found his rhythm in the main event as he started in ninth place and stayed there for the remainder of the race. The JGR Yamaha rider is dealing with some nagging inju- ries, so this result isn’t as bad as it seems. A solid top ten is a good performance for an off weekend for the Factory Yamaha racer.
