Zach Osborne came into San Diego with a vengeance after going down hard in the main event last weekend. Looking to come out and redeem himself, he dominated qualifying practice notching the pole position. Osborne looked ready to get his first career main event win as they lined em up for the
heat races. He got off to a second place start and he shadowed co-points leader Cooper Webb all the way to the finish. Although Osborne wasn’t able to pass Webb for the win, he showed he had the race speed to compete for a win in the main.
When the gate dropped for the main event, you couldn’t find Zach Osborne at the front of the field. He suffered a devastating bad start and had to work his way from behind. After lap one he was in 8th place and he linked up with Colt Nichols and the two battled their way through the pack. It is tough to charge through the stacked 250 west coast field but Osborne would be able to make some passes and fin- ish up 5th place after losing some ground to Colt Nichols late in the race. It was another disappointing result for Osborne who has shown some race-winning speed as of late but he can’t manage to put all the pieces together when it counts. He will be looking to find the miss- ing piece in Arlington and try to garner some momentum before the mid season break.
