sions and undoubtedly carried it into the heat race, taking advantage of every possible variable to gain the upper hand on the competition. The first gate drop took place in the 51cc (6-8) Limited class and Carmichael wasted no time getting to the front of the field on his Cobra, immediately grabbing the early lead and taking control of the race. He battled closely with Brody Moss (the KJSC winner from Satur- day night) but it wasn’t long until he began to build a slight advantage ahead of his closest rival, eeking out a couple of seconds per lap on his way to the checkered flag. He crossed the finish line in relatively uncontested fashion as he’d accumulated a gap of nearly eight seconds ahead of Moss, but he still had to do it all over again the main event. Fortunately for Carmichael, the main event was practically a mirror image of what occurred in the heat race as the Cobra rider pounced on the lead in the opening corner. He took no time getting up to speed and immediately began to build a gap back to second position,
