taking a couple of seconds per lap out of the competition with every circulation of the circuit. By the time the five laps had come to an end, Carmichael found himself with an advantage of more than ten seconds as he greeted the checkered flag, taking the main event win with relative ease. In the heat race for the 51cc (4-8) class, he encountered a bit more adversity in the early laps of racing action. The holeshot escaped him and he settled into fourth place on the opening lap, leaving himself a bit of work to do prior to the checkered flag in order to secure a good gate pick for the main event. The Cobra rider carved his way through the competition and ended up earn- ing a second place finish in the heat race, therefore setting himself up for success in the main event. It started exactly as planned for Carmichael as he pulled the holeshot and never looked back, riding his own race in the lead with no competitors in sight to take him out of rhythm or out of the race. He focused on smooth and consis- tent lap times and absolutely dominated the rest of the competition, crossing the finish line after five laps with an advantage of almost fifty seconds in hand, subsequently securing the 51cc (4-8) title in the process.
