Jo Shimoda has been a perennial contender on the amateur scene in both supercross and mo- tocross throughout the past couple of years. The Japanese rider has one of the smoothest riding styles on the track and his race craft is second to none, showcasing an uncanny ability to predict what will happen ahead of him at any given moment. He’s not the most consistent rider out of the starting gate, but his ability to find passing opportunities in very tight windows more than makes up for his shortcomings out of the gate.
