reached the end of the long start-straight, setting his sights on Grant Harlan and Pierce Brown ahead
of him. Hammaker followed Brown past the Yamaha rider and into second position by the third lap, but the KTM rider had already built too much of an advantage at the front of the field and he was forced to settle. Nonetheless, he received a solid gate pick for the main event and put himself in position to suc- ceed where it counts. He executed the start to near perfection in the main event and ended up leading the pack through the opening rhythm section, fending off pressure from Brown for the first couple of laps. The two of them rode neck-and-neck in the early stages of the race, but he wasn’t able to keep the Orange Brigade backed rider at bay until the checkered flag and was forced to relinquish the lead on the third circulation of the track. Regardless, he was able to regroup and hold onto second position until the checkered flag, rounding out a successful main event with a solid finish. In the Open A class, Hammaker could not be kept off the podium as he collected a third-place finish in his heat race and an additional third-place finish in the main event, capping off the weekend with consistent podium results and valuable points towards his supercross license.
