He spent most of the week- end fighting soreness after his wreck, but his starts didn’t do him any favors on the first day of racing as he found himself outside of the top five in the (9-11) Limited moto and outside of the
top ten in the (9-13) moto. Masciangelo did what he could to make up positions on the track and his best effort produced a seventh and eleventh place finish, respectively. A glimmer of his potential surfaced in
the (9-11) Limited class as he ripped an exceptional start behind Nick Romano, holding off pressure from his Suzuki teammate, Casey Cochran, for the entirety of the moto. The two of them matched one another’s lap times from start to finish, but Masciangelo held his com- posure and never cracked under pressure, stretching out his advantage by the end of the moto in order to clinch second place comfort- ably. In the second (9-13) moto, the Ontario native struggled out of the gate and paid the consequences as he found himself just barely inside the top ten on the opening lap, dropping him
in the thick of the traffic. He was able to line up a couple of passes in the late stages of the moto and promote himself to seventh position with fifth and sixth place less than a second ahead of him. The final day of racing went decent for Masciangelo as he collected two more top ten finishes after mediocre starts left him in the thick of the action yet again, but his results were good enough to claim a fifth and sixth place overall in both of his respec- tive classes.
