Justin was eager to continue his top five streak when the day began in Maryland. He qualified 12th and set his focus on the races. When the first moto began, Justin did not get the best start and was running 16th early on. In the next ten minutes, Justin was able to make up one position but looked to be struggling early on in the moto. He continued to climb through the pack, slowly but surely. He made his way up to 10th place by the finish and knew he needed a better start in the next one if he wanted to continue his top five pattern.
