>> After a significant time off from racing, Weston was back on the roster as the Motocross season began in Northern California. His JGR Suzuki team had been patiently waiting for him to get back on the track and it was time
for the off-season work to pay off. Weston used his strength to navigate the rough and rutted track to a top 15 qualifying time and was ready to get back into racing. Weston jumped off the gate and began to put his Suzuki to work when the first 450 moto began. He tucked to the inside behind Eli Tomac around the first corner and started to eat an insane amount of roost com-
ing off the Kawasaki. With his head down and his teeth full of grit, Weston kept on the gas as his determination shined through. He kept his Suzuki
near the top ten going through the first few corners and was doing his best
to keep it on two wheels. He continued the first lap strong and was able to avoid the carnage. He was sitting in 9th place as he made his way across
the green flag. Then, Weston fell victim to a hard charging Davalos, and
then lost another two positions shortly after to Bogle and Craig. He was now doing everything he could to salvage 12th position. Luckily, he was able to hold on to the spot and would look to improve in the next moto. Weston was ready to end his day smart and when the gate dropped for the second moto, he avoided the chaos once again. Although he was eating roost again, he kept it on two wheels and was running around 10th place by the second lap. Weston quickly moved into 9th and maintained the spot for the first five laps. Eventually, he would lose the positions to Baggett, Seely, and Anderson. He was now in 12th place and eager to make some time back up. He put down some very solid laps and his pace was starting to pay off as he began to reel in Seely. Weston then made the pass and would go on to finish an impressive 11th place. These performances would be good enough for 11th overall at Hangtown.
