>> After his best year of racing Supercross in 2016, Gannon Audette fol- lowed it up with his worst season in outdoors. After taking a small break from riding he went over and raced some of the European Supercross rounds getting ready for the 2017 season. Last weekend at the first race for the 250 East Coast season Audette secured himself a 16th place overall in the main event. The Kissimmee Motorsports/Legends and Heroes team rider came into the Georgia dome ready to improve on his results. He didn’t get the best start in his heat race sitting back in 12th, but the Kawasaki rider was quick to make the moves. By the third lap he had moved his way up to 10th place just one out of qualifying position. Carrying the momentum, he continued to make his way forward passing Dakota Alix for the 9th place spot. Now where he needed to be to move into the main even Audette wasn’t satisfied and continued making the passes. By the time the checkered flag was waved he was able to charge his way into 8th place and on to the main event. The start of the main fol- lowed suit to his heat race start, closer to the back then the front leaving him to spend his race working his way through the crowd. Sitting back in 19th the Kawasaki rider had a long race ahead of him. By the sixth lap
he worked his way into 17th behind Jesse Wentland. Fighting the rough track conditions, Audette had a hard time getting around the #62 of Wen- tland. After a few laps of fighting he managed to stick the pass and move into 16th. With less than five laps left of the race he kept grinding on and made his way into 14th. Never looking back, he held onto 14th through to the finish. A couple positions better than last weekend, Audette is moving forward in the right direction.
