>> The young Venezuelan rookie Lorenzo Locurcio is taking his professional rookie season on by storm. Training hard during the
off season, he was well prepared for his Supercross debut. Qualify- ing into the main event at the first round of the East Coast the Cycle Trader Rock River Yamaha rider placed 14th overall. Looking only to progress from there Locurcio was ready to put what he learned last weekend to the test. The start of his night began with him getting a good start in his heat race right around tenth place. Fighting to work his way into 9th for that transfer spot, the Yamaha rider passed the #81 of Miller stealing that last spot. With a few more laps left of the heat race he was able to snag a few more spots finishing it off in 7th place. With the pressure of qualifying off his shoulders it was time for the big show. The start of the main didn’t go as planned sitting in the back around 21st by the time the first lap was over. With almost the entire field in front of him the rookie had his work cut out for him. Hav- ing a hard time finding his groove it took Locurcio a few laps to begin making his forward and by the seventh lap he was sitting in 19th. Things began to click for the Yamaha rider and the passes started stacking up. With a few laps left of the race he found himself up into 15th. A major comeback after such an unlucky start to the race. The RockRiver CycleTrader Yamaha rookie finished off his second main event in 15th overall.
