BLAKE BAGGETT
supercross hasn’t been too kind to Blake since his professional debut, and this year isn’t anything out of the ordinary. the young California rider missed the beginning of the 2016 season, with oakland the target for comeback; unfortunately Baggett has aggravated the shoulder he injured in pre-season, and chose to remain sidelined for the Phoenix round.
Yoshimura Suzuki was pleased with Baggett’s tenacity after his tenure with Pro Circuit Kawasaki in the 250 class, enough to sign and place him on their roster alongside James Stewart. A bold move for a rider with no professional 450 experience, Suzuki saw something that numerous critics overlooked. Although he has plenty of pure speed, the kid has an intangible trait about him that can’t be taught, heart.
Notorious for below average starts, Blake has created a reputation of charging through the pack and gaining momentum while his competition seems to weaken. His foundation of fitness and creative line choice have created dividends in years past,
and many feel he will propel once again to the front of the premiere division in due time.
