after qualifying 24th, trevor chose a gate outside of the doghouse for heat number one. many priva- teers were at a disadvantage with the length of the start this week. most baseball stadiums have rela- tively short starts, allowing for it to be more reaction based, rather than top speed of the motor. the Cardinal football stadium saw the longest stretch in years, and allowed factory riders a tad advantage
in strict horsepower, compared to the motors of riders like reis.
Right outside of the immediate transfers, Reis hovered near the tenth and eleventh positions for the first few laps. As each lap expired, Reis remained between Chase Marquier and Blake Lilly. Marquier couldn’t seem to hold the intensity he had from the gate drop, and eventually succumbed to Trevor; with Marquier dropping and a crash by Jordon Smith, Reis accepted the final transfer
spot, finishing ninth. With a less than stellar gate choice, Reis mustered what he could in the main event, checking in at 16th at the first timing and scoring sensor. One by one, Trevor navigated through first lap chaos to gain three positions and complete lap one in 13th. Falling to 15th shortly there after, he remained planted in the position until lap five, where he fell to 16th, to fellow California native Mi- chael Leib. A mid-race miscue caused Trevor to fall to the 20th spot, the last points paying position.
As the laps began to subside, Trevor stayed determined, picking off Chris Howell as a result on lap 10, and moving into 19th. By lap 13, Reis had progressed by a fading Chase Marquier, to take 18th. As the final flag waved, Trevor came home with a
17th, adding to his points total for the year and something to build off of for the latter rounds.
