mitchell had a solid day in qualifying in Phoenix and was ready to get the
racing underway. When the gate fell for 250 heat 2, mitchell didn’t get the
jump he wanted to but he wasn’t going to settle. He climbed back up to 4th in con- vincing fashion, punching his ticket into the Main. Fortunately for “Freckle”, he had a pretty uneventful Main Event. He started inside the top 5 and finished 4th, matching his best of the year. Mitchell could easily be a podium contender for the rest of the season.
