Unable to move up to 4th position in the short 6 lap heat race, Pourcel would head to the semi. Not hesitating at all this time, the 377 would rocket down the extremely long start and lead the first half of the race. His teammate Jason Anderson would ride right next to him for a few laps, giving Christophe plenty of room and giving the Rockstar Energy Husqvarna team plenty of TV time. Anderson would eventually make the pass and the teammates would finish first and second. When the gate dropped in the main event Christophe would find himself back in 18th place. He worked his way through the pack while comfortably within his limits and keeping it on two wheels. He went on to finish 13th place in main event number five of the 2016 Supercross series.
