The 65cc Open class was stacked at Mammoth, there was three top guns that showed up and wanted the championship. Ryder won his heat race and ready to make a run at Deegan and Yoder in the main. Difrancesco ran up front with the #508 and #238 KTM riders but was unable to make a sprint for the lead. The young phenom was also lining up for a few 85cc races at Mammoth to prepare for his full transition to the class. After a 2nd in his heat race in the 85cc (9-12) class, Difrancesco had high hopes for the main. A bad start left the #199 back in 21st after the first lap, Ryder charged to 13th when he was forced to play catch up. Remember the name!
