Brandon Hartranft put in an incredibly determined ride to take 4th overall in the Open Pro Sport category. The class was stacked with some immense talent and the New Jersey native was favor- ing a broken wrist throughout the weekend. He managed to ride through the pain and get some decent starts, putting himself in a position to ride smart and get the job done. Hartranft took a 4th in the 1st moto, fought back to earn a 7th in the 2nd moto, and rounded out the weekend with another
4th place finish. Hartranft wasn’t riding with his normal aggression all weekend, but a broken wrist will undoubtedly put a damper on anyone’s enthusiasm. It was a spirited ride by him to earn his ticket to Loretta’s with an injury such as that. The 250 A class didn’t go nearly as well, but it wasn’t a rider error that forced him out of contention. Hartranft had a podium in the 1st moto and was in line for another podium in the 2nd moto when water found it’s way into his motor, therefore forcing him out of the next race. He’ll have to head up to Baja Acres to attempt to qualify in the 250 A class in a couple of weeks.
