KOBE HEFFNER
Kobe Heffner is making the step up from the Supermini to the B class this year and he has earned himself some Team Green support along the way. The rider out of Cumming, GA made his mark on the amateur scene in 2012 after placing 2nd in the 65cc (10-11) Limited class. He’s not been able to recreate the success that he had at Loretta’s on the 65cc bike, but he’s had some bad luck that has inspired poor
results in recent years. He raced the Supermini 1 and 2 classes at The Ranch in 2014 and finished 14th and 18th overall, respectively. Heffner knew that something was off during the week of racing, and test results in the following week confirmed that he was suffering from mono. It’s not an easy feat to complete an entire week of racing in the scorching heat of Tennessee, let alone do so with a debilitating sickness that sucks energy from the body. He has shown top 10 speed time and time again throughout his stint on the Superminis, grabbing top 5 finishes at Mini-O’s as well as the Millcreek Spring Classic. 2015 didn’t go any better than the previous year at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch for the rider out of Georgia, he only managed to grab a 16th and a 35th overall in both
of his classes. But, if his form in 2016 is any indication, he’s going to make some waves down in Tennessee this year and he’s determined to get back on the podium under the biggest amateur spotlight in the country. He’s training down in Cleveland, Alabama with former professional rider, Chad Ward, at a fully fledged riding facility with physical and mental coaches as well as a brand
new Loretta Lynn’s replica track. He’ll be coming into High Point determined to show what he can do with support from a top team, putting him in the position to come into Loretta’s stronger than ever before.
