Jumping up to the slightly more sophisticated division, heat one of Supermini 1 saw Schwartz tangle off the gate to start mid-pack. Picking off a few spots as the racers began to separate, Schwartz diced through the field, picking up five spots on lap two where he settled into 3rd for the next few laps. Using every inch, every cubic centimeter, Schwartz was pinned around the dark soiled course, pushing up to 2nd by race end. If you’d like to see how Dilan could possibly muster such a charge, head over to vitalmx.com and checkout the onboard video; you’ll see. Heading into the second moto, the amount of confidence Dilan had was unreal, but a first lap mishap pushed him back to 30th where all the speed in the world is eliminated in the depths of the deep class. Pushing up to 14th by lap three, Dilan saw another mistake slide him back to 20th but by the end of the race, the KTM had mustered a 17th and a hard earned checkered flag. After fourteen races, only one class was left for Schwartz and the Supermini 2 division didn’t disappoint on day two. In moto one, Schwartz got off to another top five start in 4th. Quickly edging by the two riders ahead of him, Dilan was in 2nd behind Kobusch early on. Setting the fastest time of the race on lap four, Schwartz gained some space each lap on the leader but fell short, finishing in 2nd heading into the final race of day two. Also throw- ing down the fastest time in moto two, Schwartz wasn’t quite as successful with an unlucky 8th place start. Forced to climb upwards, Dilan was in 7th by lap two, 5th by lap three and 4th by lap four, where he would finish day two, just outside of a podium result.
In two days, sixteen total motos, Dilan Schwartz walked away with a 1st, a 2nd, three 3rd place finishes, a 4th and a 17th, excluding his day one DNF in the Mini Sr. 1 class. With Ponca City coming up soon and Loretta’s on the horizon, expect big things for Schwartz through the
rest of 2016.
