Starting back with the 10-11 class, Freddy’s morning got off to an even better spot with him jumping into a 2nd from the beginning, a spot he would secure for all five laps of the race to qualify for the moto two main event. In that race, Aquino, again, got off the gate super strong in 3rd. In the ensuing laps,
Freddy battled with Gage Wilcox for 2nd, ultimately relinquishing the reigns to Gage on lap four. Avoiding any mistakes, Freddy stood strong in 3rd and finished the class with a 3rd place finish for both days to add some solid results to
the race resume. Hoping to improve upon his 6th in the Open class from day one, Freddy got stuck on the gate with anticipation resulting in his worst start of the week with a 9th. Able to make some early moves, Freddy was up to 7th a lap later where he found Parker Ross, the next victim of the massacre. As it just so happened, Ross was able to latch on, following Freddy around on lap three where he identified a weakness and capitalized on lap four. The pace ended up being up too much for Freddy, as he was forced to reside in 7th for the finish a lap later. Picking his head up and realizing the start was to blame, the #37 of Aquino headed back to the starting line with his race face primed for business. Freddy started the race in 5th but by the end of the first lap, the top three were already out of reach. That didn’t stop him from snatching 4th by the end of lap two, though, and holding the pace strong for the following four laps behind Yoder, Deegan and Difrancisco, respectively, he would finish there. A hard fought race and another well-deserved top five finish. With admirable results like two 3rd place finishes and a 4th continuing to accompany Freddy wherever he goes, the sky’s the limit for the young rider from Stockton, keep the eyes peeled.
