DILAN SCHWARTZ
It was evident in 2011 that Dilan Schwartz
was going to make a name for himself in
the amateur motocross community after he finished second in the 51cc (7-8) Limited
class at Loretta Lynn’s. The Californian has continued to perform at the Ranch in recent years, claiming a number one plate in the Mini Sr. 1 class back in 2016 in addition to numer- ous top five overall finishes. The Team Green Kawasaki rider competed for the last time on
a Supermini at the Ranch in 2017, finishing both classes in the top five with his best overall finish of second place coming in the Supermini 1 class. He immediately found success on the big bike at the Motoplayground Race at Ponca City, winning the Schoolboy 2 division, but an injury at the beginning of Mini O’s put a damper on the end of his season. The Californian has taken his time getting back into his rhythm throughout the 2018 season, but he still man- aged to finish inside the top five at every class that he contested in the 2018 FMF California Classic. Schwartz was one of the most impres- sive riders at the Midwest Regional Qualifier, finishing first and second in Schoolboy 2 and 250 B, respectively, and he was one of the standout performers in the B class at Mam- moth. Schwartz is looking eager to show what he can do this year at the Ranch with his sights set on his second career Loretta Lynn Amateur National Motocross Championship.
TY
MASTERPOOL
Ty Masterpool’s storyline at the 2017 Loretta Lynn Amateur Motocross Champi- onship was certainly one that won’t soon
be forgotten. The Texan showed up at the Ranch aboard a TM Supermini and com- pletely dominated both divisions, making his mark on the competition as the fastest rider in each and every moto. His efforts earned him a spot on Factory Yamaha’s Amateur program and Masterpool conse- quently graduated to the Schoolboy divi- sion, immediately finding the podium at the Thor Winter Olympics. The Yamaha rider immediately found some success in 2018 at the Monster Energy Amateur Supercross, collecting a couple of podiums at the first round in Anaheim. He remained competitive out west and logged a second place overall finish in the 125cc (12-16) division at the California Classic, in addition to a couple
of fourth place results in his other classes. Masterpool has battled some minor injuries throughout the season, but his top three finishes at the Ponca City South Central Regional prove that he’ll be right where he belongs when the gate drops at Loretta Lynn’s this year.
