THE USUAL SUSPECTS
JULIEN BEAUMER
Julien Beaumer’s most successful year at the Loretta Lynn Amateur National Championship came in 2016 where
he finished seventh overall in the 65cc (7-9) Limited division. He wasn’t able to replicate his performance at the Ranch last year, but his form throughout
the 2018 season has proven that he means business this year. The TM rider came away with a number one plate
at Mini Os in order to close out the season and started off the new year with a couple of wins in the RVMX Cup at Pala Raceway. Beaumer went on a successful trip to Texas and collected
a plethora of top five finishes at both Spring A Ding Ding and the JS7 Free- stone Spring Championship, but that was just a warm up for the damage that he would do at the California Clas- sic. He came out on top in the 85cc (9-11) class and finished third overall in the 65cc (10-11) class, proving himself to be one of the fastest riders through- out the weekend in the mini ranks. Beaumer finished first and second at his Loretta Lynn Regional Qualifier, but he sustained an unfortunate broken femur while practicing at Pala due to
a bike malfunction. Although he’ll miss competition at the Ranch this year, he’ll be back on a bike in August and ready to mix it up at the end of the racing season.
COLTON EIGENMANN
Colton Eigenmann has come close to
a top ten at the Loretta Lynn Amateur Motocross Championship, but he’s just narrowly missed out on multiple oc- casions. The Florida native earned an eleventh place overall in the 65cc (7-11) class back in 2010 and scored a twelfth in Schoolboy 2 as recently as 2016,
but he didn’t show up at the Ranch in 2017. Eigenmann stayed quiet through- out the end of 2017 and unfortunately experienced a minor injury at the 2018 Daytona RCSX, but he still managed to collect a couple of strong results at the Monster Energy Amateur Supercross
in Atlanta beforehand, including a title in the ultra-competitive 250 B division. The Yamaha rider showed incredible amounts of consistency throughout his Area and Regional Qualifiers, finishing no worse than fifth place in all of his classes but one. The Floridian qualified in both 250 B classes and will surely be aiming to break into the top ten for the first time at Loretta Lynn’s Ranch, but it wouldn’t be a surprise if he surpasses that goal by a long shot.
