>> January 7th 2017 marks Martin Davalos’s 12th sea- son of 250 Supercross racing. The veteran of the class started his day quiet, qualifying 8th in practice at the Ana- heim opener. Known for his stack of heat race wins, The Rockstar Husqvarna rider grabs the holeshot in heat race number one and gets the first win of 2017. A fresh track plus a holeshot for Davalos equals a heat race win every time. Hoping to do the same in the first main event of the 2017 season, Davalos just got edged out by Troy Lee De- signs Shane Mcelrath and starts his race off in 2nd place. Holding his position for most of the race, Davalos was unable to reel in the #38 of Mcelrath and was comfortably in second for a handful of laps. As the race continued, Star Racing Yamaha’s Aaron Plessinger caught fire and found his way around Davalos near the half way point. With only five or so laps remaining, Martin rode steady and finished the race 3rd overall.
