>> It wasn’t too long ago that Mitchell Oldenburg was receiv- ing some flak from team owner Jimmy Albertson for deciding to take a fill-in ride for Troy Lee Design KTM over the team he had already been committed too. Only given a few races to proof himself, some thought it wasn’t the greatest deci- sion. Fast forward a couple years and Mitchell Oldenburg is still on Troy Lee Design KTM and continuing to get better. Progressing more and more each year, the ceiling for this rid- er is still unknown. Starting his day qualifying 3rd in the most hyped race of the year, Oldenburg showed he was taking yet another step forward before the race even began. Keeping his results consistently inside the top 5, Oldenburg finished 3rd in 250 heat two. A bad start in the main event left Olden- burg dicing through the pack, but by lap three he was already comfortably in 4th place. Staying steady throughout the 15 min plus 1 lap main event Mitchell finished strong in 4th and is right in the thick of this 250 west coast title fight.
