>> Last year was a good year for the Geico Honda rider Jimmy Decotis finishing off the 250 West 2016 Monster Energy Super- cross season with a seventh overall. The veteran to the class has spent his off season training hard preparing for the new season. Headed into the night he was hoping his hard work would pay
off and it did. He began his night a little rough just missing the transfer spot to the main event with an eleventh in his heat race. Headed into the time limited LCQ Decotis knew it was time to put the hammer down with no room for error. Charging hard out of the gate he put himself right out in the front. Winning the first LCQ of the season the Geico Honda rider was off to the main event. Not getting the best gate pick, the #57 pulled hard out of the gate right into the middle of the aggressive bunch. Starting the race off back in thirteenth behind Tyler Bowers. A few minutes into the race he maneuvers his way around Bowers, who then plays a game of fol- low the leader as they move through the pack of riders. He quickly pulls himself up to tenth place. Chasing down the #11 of Kyle Chisolm, Decotis was looking comfortable on his red steed. As the minutes wound down in the race, Decotis continued to make the moves and got around Chisolm moving up another spot. But the young rookie Forkner was also passing his way to the front and passed the Geico Honda rider. Decotis started off the 2017 season on a high now finish off in ninth place. As the season progresses
it looks like we will be seeing a lot more of Jimmy Decotis fighting his way to that desired podium position.
