>> Blake Lilly is no rookie racer, with a lot of amateur ac- complishments and a quite few professional races under his belt he has experienced some highs along with some lows. Coming into the 2017 season he is backed by KTM of Mur- rieta along with some other sponsors. As a privateer effort
he is looking to make the mains. Starting off the night Lilly rode a strong heat race finishing in eighth moving on to the main event and skipping the LCQ. The #138 on the KTM carried some high confidence into the main that radiated out onto his riding. Not getting the best start Lilly was in the back of the pack in seventeenth as he made his way around the first lap. A battle brewed between him and Aubertson, mov- ing back and forth but Lilly was able to hang on and inch forward. Quick to make the moves just five minutes into the race, the KTM rider gained four positions moving him up to thirteenth. Hanging out there for most of the race Bradley Taft had begun to reel him in. Now with the pressure on the #138 was doing the best he could to avoid losing his hard fought thirteenth spot. Only a short amount of time was left in the race when Taft made the move and got the pass sending Lilly back to fourteenth. The privateer finished the race off in a well deserved fourteenth place position. With the first main event under his belt Lilly can only move forward from here.
