The Californian was
able to salvage some valuable championship points as he sliced and diced his way back to eighth position before the checkered flag. The second race started in
a similar fashion as the defending champion settled into third position in the early laps. The leading trio built a slight gap ahead of the rest of the pack and Beaubier waited until the final stages of the race to make a move on the Yoshimura Suzuki pair ahead of him. He slotted his way underneath Roger Hayden in turn eleven as the two of them swapped positions back
