start and quickly attempted to pace eli tomac. Although a solid effort was made, the newborn Suzuki rider was caught by the champ on lap three, and gobbled up by Canard on lap four. The HLTN owner would hold off though, securing a spot to the main event and taking fourth place in his first race back.
